The Hearth & Field is an immersive learning farm rooted in Maine, where craft, food, and land come together.
We’re building a place for hands-on learning, traditional skills, creativity, and community, guided by mentors, shaped by the seasons, and grounded in the belief that belonging grows when we learn and grow together.
The first programs are beginning to take shape, starting with food, craft, and land.
Food

One of the first things we’re growing
The Hearth & Field Cooking School
A different kind of culinary education is taking shape at The Hearth & Field. Students will learn by cooking, growing, sourcing, preserving, serving, and working alongside chefs and makers who know their craft.
The vision is an immersive program where students discover their own culinary voice, build a signature menu and professional portfolio, and learn what it means to feed a community.
We’re beginning conversations with prospective students, chefs, restaurants, and culinary mentors to help shape what this becomes.
Starting from the beginning

We’re searching for land, building relationships, running our first learning experiences, and learning from the farmers, craftspeople, chefs, builders, and teachers who’ve gone before us.
And when the time comes to build, we want the building itself to become part of the education.
